Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and Volk Ventures LLC, doing business as Daisy's Guide ("we," "us," "our"). They govern your use of our website at daisysguide.com, our store at shop.daisysguide.com, the short links and QR codes printed in our books, and everything you buy from us.
The Daisy's Guide app has its own terms. These do not cover it.
By using our site or placing an order, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use them.
1. Who can buy from us
You must be 18 or older to place an order. By doing so, you are telling us that you are.
Our books are written for adults about raising children. They are not for use by children.
2. Orders and prices
Every book we sell is printed on demand. Nothing is held in stock, so there is no sold-out state and no waiting list — an order is printed after you place it.
Your order is an offer, and our confirmation is our acceptance. We may decline or cancel an order and refund you in full, including where a product is listed at an obviously incorrect price, where we suspect fraud, or where we cannot ship to your address.
Prices are in US dollars and are shown on the product page and at checkout. Sales tax is calculated at checkout where it applies.
We try hard to describe our products accurately. Printed colors and finishes can differ slightly from what a screen shows.
3. Shipping and delivery
We ship within the United States. Shipping options and costs are shown at checkout, and free shipping applies above the threshold stated on our site.
Delivery estimates are estimates. Print-on-demand means an order is produced before it ships, and neither production nor carrier transit is something we control precisely.
Risk of loss passes to you when the carrier delivers. If a package arrives damaged or does not arrive at all, contact us and we will make it right.
4. Our guarantee, and refunds
You have 30 days from delivery to ask for your money back. Not 30 days from purchase — from the day it arrives.
- A book that has been written in is still eligible. There is no condition requirement of any kind.
- Bundles are refunded in full, not partially.
- Approved refunds are processed within two business days, to your original payment method.
- One claim per customer, unless we approve another.
To make a claim, email legal@daisysguide.com with your order number.
Gift cards are not refundable and are not redeemable for cash except where the law requires it.
5. This is not medical advice
Daisy's Guide is educational. Our books, workbooks, and articles exist to help two people talk to each other about decisions they are going to have to make anyway.
Nothing we publish is medical advice, and reading it does not create a doctor-patient relationship. Our medical author reviews our content for accuracy. She is not your doctor and is not treating you.
Do not use our content to diagnose or treat anything, and do not delay seeking care because of something you read here. For anything concerning your health, your pregnancy, or your child's health, talk to a qualified professional. In an emergency, call your local emergency number.
Parenting decisions are yours. We give you the questions, not the answers.
6. Reviews and anything else you post
When you leave a review, upload a photo, or post anything else publicly on our site or store, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable, sublicensable license to use, reproduce, adapt, publish, and display it in connection with our business, including in marketing. You keep ownership of what you wrote.
You are telling us that what you post is yours to post and does not infringe anyone's rights. We may remove anything at our discretion.
Where we offer an incentive for a review, it is offered for a review of any rating, never for a positive one, and the incentive is disclosed on the review itself.
7. What you may not do
- Use our site or products for anything illegal
- Copy, redistribute, or resell our books, workbooks, or articles
- Scrape, crawl, or harvest our content
- Interfere with the site's operation or security
- Impersonate anyone, or post anything harassing, threatening, or deceptive
8. Our intellectual property
The Daisy's Guide name, logo, books, workbooks, notebooks, articles, photography, and site design are ours or licensed to us, and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws.
Buying a book gives you a copy of that book for personal use. It does not transfer ownership of anything or grant a license to reproduce it.
9. Other companies
We rely on other companies to operate — Shopify, our payment processors, our printer, and our hosting and review providers, among others. Their terms apply to their part of the transaction. Links from our site to theirs are not endorsements, and we are not responsible for their services.
10. Warranties and disclaimers
We provide our site and its content "as is" and "as available." To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and any warranty that the site will be uninterrupted or error-free.
Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under consumer protection law that cannot be limited by agreement, and nothing here affects the guarantee in section 4.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or loss of goodwill.
- Our total liability to you for any claim relating to our site or products is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose, or one hundred US dollars.
This limit applies regardless of the legal theory and even if we were told the damages were possible. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits, in which case they apply to the fullest extent allowed there.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Volk Ventures LLC and its owner, contractors, and contributors from claims, damages, and reasonable legal fees arising out of your misuse of our site or products, your violation of these terms, or your violation of someone else's rights.
13. Disputes
Talk to us first. If something goes wrong, email legal@daisysguide.com and describe the problem. Most things get resolved this way. Both of us agree to try, in good faith, for 30 days before starting anything formal.
Arbitration. If we cannot resolve it, you and we agree that any dispute will be settled by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, in San Diego County, California, or remotely at your election. Judgment on the award may be entered in any court with jurisdiction.
You and we each waive the right to a jury trial and the right to participate in a class action, class arbitration, or representative proceeding. Arbitration is one person against one company.
Small claims are exempt. Either of us can bring an individual claim in small claims court instead.
You can opt out of arbitration. Email legal@daisysguide.com within 30 days of your first order with the subject line "Arbitration Opt-Out" and your order number. Opting out costs you nothing and changes nothing else.
Governing law. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Where arbitration does not apply, the courts in San Diego County, California have exclusive jurisdiction.
14. Everything else
Changes. We may update these terms. The effective date at the top reflects the current version, and the terms in force when you placed an order are the ones that govern it.
Assignment. You may not assign these terms. We may assign them to an affiliate or in connection with a sale of the business.
Severability. If any provision is unenforceable, the rest stays in force.
No waiver. Not enforcing a provision once does not waive it.
Entire agreement. These terms and our Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between us about our site and our physical products.
