Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 31, 2026
This policy is required by Washington's My Health My Data Act, Nevada's SB 370, and similar health-data laws. It is a standalone policy and describes only our handling of consumer health data.
It applies to residents of Washington and Nevada, and we apply it to everyone.
Daisy's Guide is operated by Volk Ventures LLC. This policy covers our website at daisysguide.com, our store at shop.daisysguide.com, and the Daisy's Guide app.
What counts as consumer health data here
Daisy's Guide is a product about pregnancy and raising children, so some of what you tell us is treated as health data under these laws:
- That you are expecting a baby, and roughly how far along you are
- Your due date, if you give it to us
- That your baby has already arrived
- The sex of your baby, if you tell us
- Your answers to topics that touch on pregnancy, birth, feeding, sleep, or your child's health
- Anything you write in a note on one of those topics
We do not collect precise geolocation, biometric data, genetic data, or medical records, and we have no interest in doing so.
Where we collect it
- The quiz on our website, if you tell us your stage
- Forms and sign-ups on our website, where you choose to share it
- The onboarding questions in the app, which ask whether the baby has arrived, whether you know the sex, and similar, in order to decide which topics to show you
- Your answers and notes in the app
- Anything you write to us when you contact us for help
We do not buy health data from anyone, and we do not infer it from your browsing.
Why we collect it
Only to run the product:
- To choose which topics you see. If your baby is already here, we do not show you questions about the birth.
- To generate the shared summary when you and your partner both finish a topic.
- To send you the content and the reminders you asked for.
- To answer your support questions.
We do not use it to build audiences, score you, profile you, or make decisions about you.
Who we share it with
We share consumer health data only with the service providers who operate the product for us, and only so they can do that:
- Supabase, on Amazon Web Services in the United States, for app hosting and our database
- A third-party AI provider, which receives the relevant answers, notes, and first names in order to write your shared summary
- Klaviyo, for the content and reminders you asked for
- Shopify, for our store
- PostHog, for product analytics
- Our email provider, for support conversations
We do not sell consumer health data. Not for money, and not for anything else of value.
We do not share it with advertising platforms. No pregnancy stage, no due date, no quiz answers, no app answers, and no inferred health status is sent to Meta, TikTok, Google, or any other advertising platform, by any method, including server-side integrations. Advertising platforms receive ordinary commerce events and nothing about your health.
Employees and contractors who can access this data are limited to those who need it to build and support the product.
How long we keep it
For as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, your answers and notes are removed from our active systems within 24 hours and from our backups within 30 days. We retain a minimal purchase record that contains no health data.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- Confirm whether we are collecting, sharing, or selling your consumer health data
- Access it, including a list of who we have shared it with
- Withdraw consent to our collection and sharing of it
- Have it deleted, including from our backups and from our service providers
To exercise any of these, email legal@daisysguide.com with the subject line "Health Data Request." You may use an authorized agent; we will ask for written proof of their authority.
We will respond within 45 days, and will tell you if we need another 45.
Withdrawing consent or requesting deletion will end your ability to use the app, because your answers are the product. We will tell you that before we act, not after.
If we deny a request, we will explain why and how to appeal. To appeal, reply to our response with the subject line "Health Data Appeal." If we deny the appeal, Washington residents may complain to the Washington State Attorney General at www.atg.wa.gov/file-complaint, and Nevada residents to the Nevada Attorney General.
Changes
We will update this policy if our handling of consumer health data changes, and we will not apply a material change to data already collected without telling you first.
