Privacy Policy

Daisy's Guide is operated by Volk Ventures LLC ("we," "us," "our"). This policy explains what we collect, why, who it goes to, and what you can do about it.
It covers our website at daisysguide.com, our store at shop.daisysguide.com, and the short links and QR codes printed in our books.
The Daisy's Guide app is covered by a separate policy, because it collects very different things. If you use the app, read the App Privacy Policy as well.
We are a small, owner-operated company. We do not sell your personal information, and we never send anything about your pregnancy, your due date, or your parenting stage to an advertising platform.
1. What we collect
Information you give us
When you buy something. Your name, email address, shipping address, billing address, and phone number if you provide one. Payment card details go directly to our payment processors — Shopify Payments, Stripe, or PayPal — and we never see or store your full card number.
When you sign up for email or SMS. Your email address, your phone number if you give it, and which parenting stage you told us you are at.
When you take the quiz. Your answers, and your contact details if you choose to share them.
When you leave a review. Your name as you enter it, your review text, and any photos you upload. Reviews are collected through Judge.me and are public by design.
When you contact us. Whatever you put in the message, plus your email address.
Information we collect automatically
Usage and device data. IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, referring pages, and which links and QR codes brought you to us.
Cookies and similar technologies. See section 3.
2. Why we collect it
- To take, fulfill, and support your orders
- To answer your questions
- To send order confirmations, shipping updates, and access codes
- To send marketing email or SMS if you asked for it, and to send you content relevant to your stage
- To understand how the site is used and to fix what breaks
- To measure our advertising
- To detect and prevent fraud
- To meet our tax, accounting, and legal obligations
3. Cookies, analytics, and advertising
We use cookies and similar technologies for three things: making the site and store work, understanding how they are used, and advertising.
Advertising technologies on our website and store may include pixels from Meta, TikTok, Snap, Reddit, X, and Taboola, plus Google Analytics. These collect an audience identifier and standard commerce events such as page views and purchases.
The line we do not cross
We do not send anything about your pregnancy, your due date, your parenting stage, your quiz answers, or any inferred health status to any advertising platform. Not to Meta, not to TikTok, not to any of the others, and not through any server-side integration.
Advertising platforms receive commerce events and nothing about your reproductive or health circumstances. This is enforced at the point where events are built, not left to a setting.
Your choices
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Our website responds to Global Privacy Control signals by disabling advertising cookies for that browser. Browsers do not send a consistent Do Not Track signal, so we do not respond to it.
4. Health information
Our quiz and our sign-up forms may capture what stage of parenting you are at, including that you are expecting. Some state laws treat that as sensitive health data.
We maintain a separate Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy, linked from every page of this site, which sets out what we collect, why, who it goes to, and how to withdraw consent or have it deleted.
5. Who we share it with
We share personal information with the companies that run parts of our business for us. They may use it only to provide their service to us.
- Shopify — our store and checkout
- Shopify Payments, Stripe, PayPal — payments
- Acutrack — printing and shipping
- Webflow and Cloudflare — website hosting
- Klaviyo — email and SMS
- Judge.me — reviews
- Google Analytics — website analytics
- Kintsugi — sales tax
- Our accounting provider and our accountant
We also share information when the law requires it, when we need to protect our rights or someone's safety, and if the business is ever sold or merged — in which case this policy travels with it.
We do not sell your personal information for money. Our use of advertising cookies may count as "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising under California law. You can opt out using the Global Privacy Control signal, your browser's cookie controls, or by emailing us.
6. How long we keep it
- Order records — seven years, for tax and accounting.
- Marketing contacts — until you unsubscribe, plus a suppression record so we do not email you again.
- Analytics data — up to two years.
- Support messages — three years.
- Reviews — until you ask us to remove them.
7. Your rights
Wherever you live, you can email legal@daisysguide.com to:
- Get a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- Correct anything that is wrong
- Delete it
- Stop marketing email or SMS
- Opt out of advertising cookies
We will respond within 45 days and will tell you if we need longer. We will not treat you differently for asking.
If you live in California, the CCPA as amended by the CPRA gives you the right to know, delete, and correct your personal information, opt out of its sale or sharing, and limit the use of sensitive personal information. We do not sell personal information for money, and we do not use sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about you. You may use an authorized agent; we will verify a request against information we already hold before acting on it.
If you live in another US state with a privacy law — including Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas, Oregon, and Montana — you have similar rights, including the right to appeal if we say no. We apply the same process to everyone. If we deny a request, we will tell you why and how to appeal.
If you are in the UK, EU, or EEA, our products are sold and operated from the United States and your information is processed there. You have rights of access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, and portability. Where we rely on consent you can withdraw it at any time; where we rely on legitimate interests you can object.
8. Children
Our products are for adults. Our website and store are not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If we learn that we have, we delete it. You must be 18 or older to place an order.
Our books are about children. They are not for children.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information, and data is encrypted in transit. Our store and payments run on Shopify and Stripe, which handle card data under their own security programs; we never hold your card number.
No system is perfectly secure, and we are not going to tell you otherwise. If a breach affects you, we will notify you as the law requires.
10. Other sites we link to
Our pages link to other companies' sites, including our store's payment providers and our review platform. We are not responsible for their privacy practices, and their policies apply to what they collect.
11. Where your information is processed
We are based in the United States and our providers are primarily in the United States. If you use our site from elsewhere, your information is transferred to and processed there.
12. Changes to this policy
We will update this policy when what we do changes. The effective date at the top always reflects the current version. If a change materially affects how we handle your information, we will tell you by email rather than only posting it here.
